Gearing Up for 2013
I don’t want to wish a day away- but I’m ready to launch into 2013. I have had a great 2012 with lots of new things added to the Cimarrona line, but I’ve been playing around with some ideas that at this point are just sketches. And while the hooty hoot hats and woolagin guys and girls will be first to get restocked- I am eager to explore these ideas: pillows and other home dec items that use the woolagin characters, applique and reverse applique, collage and fiber mixed media worked into encaustic (wax) pieces. Heading to the Sons Show
My favorite show of the year is the Randy Brodnax and Friends show at the Sons of Hermann Hall in Deep Ellum -Dallas, TX. What makes this show so great is everything. It is a cool old building with a great history, it is filled with some of the best working artists (and craftsmen and craftswomen) around. These folks feel more like family every year. I love being with them. I’m next to Carl Block upstairs who makes me laugh pretty much the entire time, and he sings and plays is mandolin while he is selling every single crazy face […]
