new cimarrona hat, back viewSometimes when a style just is not working, modifications are in order. A nip here- a tuck there. So my Alpine style hat was being tweaked. This is the hat that you think of as a toboggin style hat. I had brought in the sides to make a skinnier version. What I had not done was to make the top fabric more flexible, because what good is having that style hat if it doesn’t give you a little bounce. (Who wants to go around looking like they are wearing a wool dunce cap????) So, taking the batch that I was working on- I started playing with the design and a whole new beast emerged. So,…. with no further ado… here ’tis the latest style (as yet to be named). I invite you to suggest a name for this new hat!

Here are the specs: A 4 inch fleece lined wool band, with a generous softly gathered felted wool top. Plenty of room up there for hair- if you’ve got it- or just hot air, and there is plenty of that going around these days. These will be available at the upcoming sales.

Want to know what the new Alpine is going to look like? Just stay tuned. I’ll be working on them this afternoon. Cheers!
